Bet you thought we couldn’t fit another “first” in that headline, right? Anyway, this month’s First Friday is focused on being the first one in 2014. Check out more 2014 First Friday themes. Kick off the new year with shopping, dining, drinking and events 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown York. Offerings include:

New:
– The Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center added a First Friday Late-Night Film lineup to its Capitol Cinema series. See “The Warriors” 10 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 50 N. George St. Tickets will be $7, and the concessions stand and bar will be open. Check out the rest of the movie lineup.

Music and art:
The Parliament opens its “Oh Snap! Photography Showcase” 6 to 9 p.m. at 116 E. King St. There will be live music and refreshments.
– Hear Jazz in the City 5 to 7 p.m. at The Studio at the Strand, 50 N. George St. (Entrance is around the corner on Philadelphia Street.) Kirk Reese, Steve Meashey and Jeff Stabley will play. Tickets are $3 or free with student ID.
– The “100 Under 100″ exhibit continues at YorkArts, 10 N. Beaver St. Read more about it.
Philosophy Collective, 126 E. King St., presents white art with its “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” exhibit. Wear white to be entered to win a prize.
Lotus Moon Yoga, 36 N. Beaver St., presents the “Soul Speaking” Art Journaling exhibition by Tammy Bray and Native American flute music by Jack Bray 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will also be a yoga class and massages.

At the bars:
Maewyn’s Irish Pub, 110 N. George St., continues the theme of its New Year’s Eve party on First Friday. Dress in 1920s garb and enjoy dancing.
– Jesus Castanon of Hain’s Pipe and Cigar Shop will be rolling cigars and Shane Speal will be playing cigar box guitar rock at Mudhook Brewing Co., 34 N. Cherry Lane. The first 10 people through the door get a free cigar.

Yummy stuff:
– Enjoy assorted appetizers and make a sweet concoctaion at the hot chocolate bar in CoWork155, 155 W. Market St. Andrew Barnes’ photography will be on display.
Nuts About Granola, 46 W. Philadelphia St., unveils new flavors for the new year: Death by Chocolate and Mexican Hot Chocolate. Stop in for samples and other new items.
– Stop by Ladybug Baking Company & Café, 33 N. Beaver St., to enter a a raffle for a basket of goodies. Snack on pink champagne and mimosa cupcakes.

Deals and discounts:
– Be the first customer, first sale, etc. at Arthur & Daughters, 49 N. Beaver St., to pick a free gift. The shop will also host a champagne toast.
